Tässä “viikon sadussa” ei esiinny vesirottia, myyriä, mäyriä tai rupikonnia, vaan päähenkilönä on viiksitimali.
In this weeks “fairytale” the main characters are not really a mole, water rat, otter or a badger – instead the Bearded Reedling (lat. Panurus biarmicus) is in the spot. I visited Kaitalahti in Espoo earlier this week, and managed to get some pictures of this interesting looking bird. Other highights this week have been the Eurasian Pygmy Owl and Grey Partridge. I got some quite good photos (at least I hope so, since I have not reviewed them yet on the computer…) of both of them on sunday. This weeks photo is a rather different angle of the Bearded Reedling, since I really got to the ground with this picture – sitting in the snow in the rush. I have seen so far quite a lot of images of this bird higher up in the rush. Picture is taken on monday 13.03.2006.
